Riviera chairman and owner Rodney Longhurst said the entire Miami display from Australia’s Marine Industry’s 2015 Exporter of the Year will be a beacon of boating excellence.
“The name Riviera is synonymous worldwide with hallmark luxury, blue-water sea-keeping abilities and unrivalled owner support,” he said.
“Our stunning Miami showcase will reflect Riviera’s unparalleled passion for excellence in all areas of design, technology, performance and luxury livability.”
5400 Sport Yacht – The Spirit of Excellence
World Premiere
Riviera’s Florida-based international sales director Chris McCafferty says the 5400 Sport Yacht will set a new standard for luxury single-level living, cruising and entertaining yachts over 50-feet.
The 5400 features a wide hydraulic boarding platform and electric-opening garage with enough room for a 10.8-ft (3.3m) tender with permanently mounted 20hp outboard, which can be easily launched or retrieved at the touch of a button using the built-in electric winch.
The 5400 Sport Yacht’s expansive 122.7ft2 (11.4m2) cockpit includes a large forward-facing transom lounge, with storage for fenders within each of its armrests. Her curvaceous fiberglass hardtop extends well aft to provide shelter and shade from the extremities and an electric sliding sunroof brings extra sunlight and fresh air into the alfresco area when desired.
To port is a wet bar and double barbecue, a refrigerator and icemaker as well as a solid surface bench top with sink. There is an L-shaped lounge/dining area to starboard and a teak table lowers to become a daybed.
“Generous walk-around side decks with well-placed hand rails give safe and easy access for children and pets to her expansive foredeck – a real entertainment zone onboard with two weather-proof speakers under the windscreen brow and connected to the main salon stereo system so the whole yacht can party together,” said Mr McCafferty.
“For total comfort, the upholstered double sun pad will have a folding bimini with adjustable back rests.”
As with every Riviera, all deck hardware aboard the 5400 will be 316 marine-grade stainless steel.
Mr McCafferty said the 5400’s luxurious interior is both welcoming and expansive, and designed to deliver all the delights of a lavish and contemporary life afloat.
“Immediately to starboard is the aft gourmet galley where the transition from exterior to interior merges with a wide glass awning window to bring the outdoors (and entertainment) inside, and placing the chef right in the heart of the party,” he said.
“To port there is a cocktail cabinet with dual refrigeration featuring strong and low-maintenance, stainless steel drawers, as well as a wine cooler and glass and bottle storage. Forward and to port is a large L-shaped leather lounge with highly detailed dinette, with the option of an electric-lift hi-lo table that can be converted to a day bed.
“Air-conditioning is standard to the salon, galley and staterooms however natural breezes can be easily captured through the hardtop’s electric sliding glass sunroof and also through sliding tinted and toughened glass salon side windows.”
Mr McCafferty said the center-line helm of the 5400 Sport Yacht features a deluxe Recaro electric-adjusting helm seat and sports-inspired command console with high-quality leather sports steering wheel and easy to use vessel controls, including a joystick. The sunken backlit dash has comprehensive navigation/engine instrumentation, with ample storage compartments for binoculars, phone, iPad and instrument covers, as well as drink-holders and two 15-inch multi-function display screens.
“We have also designed-in access under the helm to ensure easy and efficient servicing,” he said.
Below, the 5400’s full-beam master stateroom is accentuated by a king-sized walk-around bed, with premium innerspring mattress, while sweeping, fixed, tinted hull windows on both sides of the master suite draw in plenty of natural light. Fresh air is introduced through opening portholes alarmed to the helm in the event they are left open.
The VIP guest stateroom forward features a queen-sized walk-around island bed with storage underneath, while the port-side guest stateroom features adult-sized upper and lower berths. This space can also be an optional atrium lounge, if desired.
The 5400 Sport Yacht will be powered by twin Volvo Penta IPS2-800 (2 x 626hp/441kW) D11 engines and pod drive units as standard propulsion, with optional IPS2-950 (2 x 725hp/533kW) D11 engines and pod drive units. Joysticks at the helm and in her cockpit enable a skipper, either solo or with a novice crew, to able to simply push and twist the joystick and the yacht will respond immediately, pivoting in place or tracking sideways into a tight berth.
525 SUV – The Ultimate Crossover Yacht
Americas Premiere
Mr Longhurst said Riviera’s striking new SUV design is a clear reflection of the growing worldwide appeal of luxury motor yachts with the versatility to meet the requirements of both the avid angler and cruising entertainer.
“The innovative Riviera SUV crossover collection combines the high-performance, blue-water cruising and luxury livability attributes of the classic Riviera Flybridge collection, and the single-level, leisurely entertaining features of the stylish Riviera Sport Yacht design,” he said.
“We are extremely proud of the way this collection is being embraced by boating aficionados worldwide.”
The 525 SUV offers new fixed transom seating, with options for storage or live bait tank, as well as a comfortable three-seater cockpit mezzanine lounge to port. There is also an optional integrated and interchangeable table to provide a versatile alfresco entertaining area, which can also be converted to a daybed.
To starboard there’s a lift-up lid with gas strut that reveals a double BBQ with stainless steel splash-back and LED lighting, ice-maker, sink, solid surface bench top and even more storage.
“The rear bulkhead of the 525 SUV is tinted, tempered glass set in a highly polished, marine-grade stainless steel frame, adding to the sense of light and space as you step into her spacious and luxurious salon,” said Mr Longhurst.
“To port is the modern and highly equipped U-shaped galley from which a huge glass awning window opens out and over to the cockpit, in effect opening up the rear of the boat and linking the cockpit and salon as one space,” he said.
“The 525 SUV’s sumptuous salon features a large L-shaped lounge to port with a hi-lo dining table which folds and lowers to become a coffee table. Adjacent to the dining area is an optional three-seater settee in which the middle seat base can slide out as an ottoman and form additional seating around the main dining table – also handy for family games nights. An additional table then lifts out from the settee and sits between the two remaining seats, forming additional dining or workspace.
“Forward of the three-seater settee is a 32-inch LED television and high-end sound system, secured out of the way in its own dedicated compartment to starboard. The TV rises elegantly and electrically at the touch of a button, and swings for viewing from every salon seating position.
“Opening, tinted side windows and two huge electric sliding sunroofs built into the solid GRP hardtop bring light and fresh air into the salon whilst the huge windscreen looking out over the forward deck and bow draws in more light below to the accommodation deck.”
This new SUV model features a modern, elevated wrap-around helm with two large and luxurious low-back leather helm seats, each with sports flip-up cushion for bracing in rough seas. The console has enough room for two 17-inch multi-function display screens as well as a wide range of standard inclusions that, in the past, might have been considered optional. These include the innovative Volvo Penta Glass Cockpit navigation and CZone digital switching systems.
Below, the 525 SUV has a flexible accommodation plan that comprises three staterooms with portside master and forward VIP guest stateroom, two bathrooms, premium quality entertainment systems, all with supreme levels of comfort. The forward stateroom can be the master if owners desire, while the third stateroom is also very generous in size with full adult-length side-by-side single beds and ample storage.
Mr Longhurst said the 525 SUV has joysticks as standard at the helm and to starboard in the cockpit, and is powered by the proven twin IPS2-800 pod configuration with D11 engines, each delivering 626hp/441kW and achieving a cruising range of 355 nautical miles at 23.9 knots.
Owners have the option of upgrading to the popular IPS2-950 pod drive package, wherein each engine delivers a powerful 725hp/655kW.
