As the team at Riviera prepares to build a spectacular display at the Sydney International Boat Show beginning on Thursday, August 3, the company’s show centrepiece, the magnificent 68 Sports Motor Yacht is now undergoing final sea trials to rigorously test and fine tune every onboard system.
The designers and developers are thrilled with the trial results as they work through every element of this innovative new motor yacht.
Meanwhile, finishing touches are being put to the gleaming interiors of this multiple deck world-class motor yacht.
The spacious flybridge has taken shape with its impressive black Norsap helm and companion seats facing the matt black helm station with its carefully hand-stitched leather surrounds, comprehensive engine and thruster controls and the three large navigation displays.
As the motor yacht is completed, many of the finer details on board are fully revealed. The high bulwarks and stainless steel hand rails on the side decks provide a strong sense of security when moving forward or aft. Grab rails are conveniently located throughout the interior and lighting throughout the interior is both subtle and sophisticated, controlled throughout by CZone digital switching. There is even a magazine rack conveniently crafted into the arm rest of the portside lounge in the saloon.
While the new Sports Motor Yacht is the display centrepiece at the Sydney International Boat Show, it will be surrounded by a comprehensive display of the Riviera and Belize motor yacht collections.
Ten yachts on display in Sydney
The company’s 10-yacht display includes the supremely seaworthy 52 Enclosed Flybridge model, a 43 Open Flybridge, the stylish and sophisticated 4800, 5400 and 6000 Sport Yachts and the sporty and adventurous 575, 525 and 445 SUV models.
The Belize display will showcase the luxurious 54 Daybridge model and will also offer a detailed presentation of the marque’s latest classically-styled motor yacht, the Belize 66, which is currently in build in two models, Sedan and Daybridge, and will make its world premiere in 2018.
Riviera owner and Chairman Rodney Longhurst said the company will also reveal details of two new Riviera models at the show.
“Our team is constantly seeking to develop and improve the Riviera and Belize collections,” he said. “We are truly proud of every model on display at this show.
“Now we are equally excited to reveal the new models to the collection. They bring to 18 the total number of Riviera and Belize models we offer to the world motor yacht market.
“I am certain that the new models we will reveal at the show will equally excite an important market sector,” he said.
Special ladies’ event – just for fun
With so much activity surrounding the impressive motor yacht display, the Riviera team is also working to complete preparations for a special event during the show.
On the Friday of the show, Riviera will present a Masterclass and ladies luncheon at the exciting new Olio restaurant in nearby Chippendale.
Riviera ladies are invited to learn the art of blending gin courtesy of the team at The Archie Rose Distilling Company and then to experience Sicilian food at its most inspired during a delicious three-course luncheon, served with selected Italian wines, at the exciting new restaurant, Olio.

“The future for Riviera could not be brighter.”
