Hull and superstructure joined on Heesen Project Neptune

Dutch yard Heesen Yachts has revealed that the hull and superstructure have been joined on its 56 metre Project Neptune, formerly known as YN18556.

Construction officially began on January 19, but this latest development gives us our first glimpse of her sleek exterior lines by UK-based studio H2 Yacht Design.

The largest yacht currently under construction at Heesen, Project Neptune is a fully custom yacht with a fast displacement steel hull developed by Van Oossanen Naval Architects and aluminium superstructure.

LY3 compliant, this 770GT yacht will offer accommodation for up to 12 guests split between six staterooms, including a 85 square metre owner’s suite on the main deck, complete with its own gym, steam room and office. Four lower deck double cabins and a bridge deck VIP complete the guest accommodation on board, while the crew quarters will allow for a staff of up to 13 people.

Reymond Langton Design will create Project Neptune’s interior décor working to a brief that calls for a “rich and refined atmosphere” with “subtle design details”. Key materials include light fiddle back sycamore combined with pale taupe leathers, bronze inlays and white onyx. Meanwhile, the superyacht beach club will feature a fixed 3.5 metre bathing platform finished in warm teak, with blue backlit panels and bamboo detailing.

Power will come from a pair of MTU 8V4000 M63 engines for a top speed of 15.5 knots. When trimmed back to 13 knots, Project Neptune will have a transatlantic cruising range of 4,300 nautical miles. Tenders and toys will be stored under foredeck hatches, ensuring that the lines are not disrupted.

Other superyacht projects currently under development at the Oss yard include the 55 metre Project Antares and the 49.8 metre Project Ayla, both of which are due for delivery next year.
