After being sold to her owner earlier this year, the 55-metre project Alida now known as Laurentia is undergoing sea trials in the waters outside Rotterdam this week as her delivery date draws closer.
Since the project had been sold, which was announced during the 2017 Palm Beach International Boat Show in March, Miami-based design firm RADYCA has been working on the interior styling of the yacht which has been outfitted at Heesen Yachts; shipyard in Oss according to the owner’s requirements.
As sistership to Azamanta, Heesen Yachts once again worked with Omega Architects on the exterior of Laurentia and relied on Van Oossanen Naval Architect’s experience for the efficient fast displacement hull form which the yacht is built on.
Inside, Laurentia features 250 square metres of accommodation space that covers a special full-beam VIP stateroom, luxurious master suite on the main deck, and four additional cabins to sleep a total of 12 guests.
Twin MTU 8V 4000 M63 engines provide her with a maximum speed of 16 knots and a range of 4,500 nautical miles at cruise.
