Marcus Overman of Lee Marine successfully delivers a new Ferretti Yachts 850 in Cattolica, Italy.
The brand new model Ferretti 850 marks the new evolution of design from Ferretti Yachts and will be a benchmark for the rest of the range moving forward. The owner is a seasoned boat owner and, having recently moved to Thailand with his young family, is looking forward to experiencing the beautiful cruising grounds that Phuket has to offer.
The exterior design signals something new for Ferretti Yachts. Looking passively aggressive, yet practical at the same time, she is certainly a fine boat to look at. The aft tender garage door hinges down to give access to the water for the tender and creates a large beach club for guests to relax and suit up for water activities. The cockpit is huge with a large sofa lounge, a dining table for up to 8 people and armchair seating. The side decks lead forward allowing the crew to access the galley and crew quarters through side doors once again offering maximum guest privacy. The bow dinette forward is a highlight and creates a whole other lounge area of the boat. The owner has customized the flybridge and will have forward and aft bar counters for serving along with additional lounges to starboard and also on the aft deck.
The Ferretti Yachts 850 interior design brief was to incorporate the feeling of a Manhattan apartment on the water and her chic interior design conveys this perfectly. She features a semi-raised pilothouse, meaning there is no lower helm on the main deck, and this offered the Ferretti design team much more freedom in the main salon. This additional space is the first thing that you notice on entering the boat. Her galley is foward and separated from the main salon ensuring maximum guest privacy. Access to the crew quarters forward is from the galley which makes for a logical and practical solution. The Ferretti Yachts 850 features four large guest cabins with the owner of this particular yacht opting for the twin cabin to be able to be converted into a double.
Powered by twin Man 12v 1900hp V drive engines giving her a top speed of 31 knots and a cruising speed of 27 knots with a cruising speed range of 320NM. The owner has spared no expense on the option list and she comes fully equipped with twin generators, stabilisers, watermaker, hardtop with glass roof, jet tender and much more.
