The Prestige 60,
European Powerboat of the Year, 2010 for power boats
over 50 feet, is another boat ideal for the Asian
market.
It is the only boat of its size
with three cabins, it has crew accommodation, very large
windows in the crew cabins, hydraulic lift at the stern
and IPS propulsion.
Jeannau, which owns
the Prestige brand, used its vast knowledge of building
sailing yachts. The hull of the Prestige 60, for for
example, was designed by the internationally recognize
naval architect, Michael Peters, whose main expertise
has been in large yachts.
The flybridge is
another feature of the Prestige 60, over spacious living
matched by comfort and elegance. It features an
original arch and fibreglasses roof covering the entire
lounge area of the flybridge. The design appears to meld
perfectly into the overall design of the yacht.
Below the flybridge
there is a large upper deck saloon with sea view, a vast
interior saloon with large glass windows on the sea and
three large cabins, including a skipper’s cabin. All
cabins have private shower and head compartments and are
in exotic wood. They have exceptional light. The crew
cabin is located aft of the cockpit and has sea views
through windows on the transom.
The steering station
has lateral window opening electrically, an adjustable
pilot seat with electronic controls, a console with
instrument panel with space for two 14 in screens and a
defogger for the windscreen.
The saloon has a
bright, 360 degree view of the external, a large
U-shaped bench, a ceiling mounted TV and removable wood
and carpet floor panels. The dining area has retractable
table seats for six to eight people, sofa seating and
removable wood and carpet floor panels. The galley has a
“step down” design concept and parquet floors.
The cockpit has a
central bench seating with access to the passerelle on
the port side and access to the swim platform on the
starboard side, an electric retractable sun awning and
electric windows on the portside awning. The swim
platform is a spacious fiberglass platform fixed or
hydraulic with a folding swim
ladder.
The 2 x Volvo IPS 900
engines generate 2 x 700 hp. The engine room is easily
accessible for maintenance and repair. The deck is
stratified fiberglass and polyester resin in a sandwich
composition adapted to the different types of surfaces.
The hull is constructed by infusion in laminate layers
of fiberglass and polyester resin with sandwich and
integrated osmosis barrier coating.
Orders for
this new model have been fast and furious so anyone
considering a new Prestige 60 for Asia in 2010 needs to
move quickly. One thing is for sure, the Prestige brand
is making its name very quickly worldwide and when you
