Just
to give you an idea. The Ferretti 800 met, and
surpassed the expected parameters, reaching 28
knots cruising speed 32 knots maximum speed. It has
proved very manageable when turning with limited noise
level.
We
think this is all good news. But even better for
prospective Ferretti 800 owners in Asia is Josh’s
presence in Cattolica, given Lee Marine’s acknowledged
experience in preparing boats for the tropics. We
don’t think many brokers in Asia go to these lengths to
assess a new yacht line before it becomes
available.
The
Ferretti 800 has many of the Ferretti 881 features which
were on display by Lee Marine at this year’s PIMEX.
It is a first for Ferretti to super impose these
features on a new boat like the Ferretti 800. Features
such as much larger windows, a fold down “beach” at the
rear and a hard top to handle the tropical climate of
places like Phuket mark the Ferretti 800 out as the
ideal boat for this area.
In
fact Ferretti have told us how much they value Lee
Marine’s input and advice on building tropical hulled
boats. We can pass on insights and experience we have
gathered from selling boats like the Ferretti 881. That
is just what Josh has been doing at the Ferretti boat
building yard in Italy.
The
Ferretti 800 has a maximum speed of 32 knots and
cruising speed of 28 knots [as per the latest technical
sea trials] powered by a MAN V12 1800 engines, which can
generate a toque of 6.020 Nm ai, as low as 1200 rpm. It
is a lighter engine than most MAB-V-engines at 5213.9
lbs. The engines are located underneath the cockpit, far
from the sleeping and living room areas.
A
titling control station on the flying bridge is a
particularly Ferretti yacht feature. Equipment on the
bridge can be controlled with the flick of a switch,
something ideal for the Asian somewhat sunny and rainy
climate. The hardtop for the flying bridge is optional.
Also on the bridge is a dinette and a manual adjustable
helm seat.
The
Ferretti 800 also features the magnificent wide windows
of the Ferretti 881, allowing the cabins and living
areas to be bathed in nice tropical sunlight, or, at
sundown, the bright red of a tropical sunset. The master
cabin is central with the second and third cabins having
double beds and the fourth bunks. There are four
bathrooms for guests and two for crew. The four berth
crew cabin is at the bow.
The
main living room has leather sofas and great lighting
from the large windows. Air conditioning in all salons
and cabins, hi-fi systems in the VIP cabin, master cabin
and the salon [Bose surround system]. The galley has an
ice maker.
The
cockpit is lined in teak, and the cockpit table and four
chairs are also teak. The guest’s bathrooms and master
bathroom are all wood. Hey, there is a safe deposit box
in case of pirates!!! At the back the garage can store
jet-skis and water craft. There is accommodation for a
tender on the fly.
Once
this yacht becomes available later this year we are
confident there will be many interested buyers in this
part of the world.
